some news
Thanks to the brilliant folks at interactivetools.com, and the Mozilla Midas project, I'm pleased to offer in-browser WYSIWYG HTML editing using htmlArea 3!
Now you can attach a formatted web page to any Berylium document or folder, and edit it online without knowing anything (or much of anything) about HTML.![]()
You need space to think
The nice thing about htmlArea is that it gives you a big 640x480 window in which to compose your documents, a huge improvement over the standard textarea used to edit plain text. What You See Is What You Get
Select a block of text, click the bold button-- the text turns bold! This isn't a webform, it's like having an HTML editor like Dreamweaver or FrontPage running on your computer. Okay, not quite as fancy as those tools. But since it runs on any computer with Mozilla 1.4, or on Windows with IE5.5 or IE6, it's a lot more convenient.
Berylium automatically applies the current stylesheet to the editing window, so you can compose your documents almost exactly as they will appear on the updated site.Copy And Paste From Other Webpages
It just works-- links, formatting and all. Which means you can create complex pages using Dreamweaver or Mozilla Composer, then copy-and-paste them into the editing window.
Want to try it? Here's a page with a sample htmlArea -- remember, Mozilla 1.4 or IE5.5+ is required.
